Philadelphia Honey Festival
The Philadelphia Honey Festival was such a great way to end the summer with a bang. Honey Fest is always a rad way to educate Philly’s citizens about local honey and the new trend of urban beekeeping. This year I volunteered all 3 days at the Philly Bee Guild’s honey tent, selling not only Manayunk Farm honey but other “city limit” honey as well as honey from Montgomery county, New Jersey and Maryland.
It was such a rewarding feeling to have Manayunk Farm honey being sold, knowing all the work that had gone into it, the bees, the extraction, the bottling and labeling. As if it couldn’t have gotten better, alongside other very popular honeys out for taste testing, our honey was consistently people’s favorite. Our honey sold out in a day.
I can’t thank everyone enough for helping to make all our work worth while and I hope to see everyone (again) at honey fest next year.
